Mike "Doc" Emrick to Serve as Master of Ceremonies Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Legendary hockey broadcaster Mike "Doc" Emrick will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the 37th annual U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner, USA Hockey announced today.

Emrick will help officially recognize the Class of 2009, which includes the 1998 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team, Tony Amonte, Tom Barrasso, John LeClair and the late Frank Zamboni. In addition, the 1960 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team will be honored in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the United States' first-ever Olympic gold medal in ice hockey.

"We are thrilled to have Doc help us put on this great event," said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. "As one of the most recognizable voices in hockey today, he will surely give this event and the inductees the presence they deserve."

Emrick currently serves as the lead announcer for National Hockey League network telecasts on NBC and Versus, as well as a play-by-play announcer for the NHL's New Jersey Devils. He received the 2004 Lester Patrick Award for outstanding service to hockey in the United States.
