COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Tony Rossi, vice president of USA Hockey and chair of the organization's international council, was elected to a four-year term on the International Ice Hockey Federation Council today during the IIHF General Congress in Montreal, Quebec.

"We've been extremely fortunate to have Wm. Thayer Tutt and Walter Bush represent us on the IIHF Council for the last 35 years," said Ron DeGregorio, president of USA Hockey. "Tony, with his experience in both hockey and business, will be a tremendous asset to the Council and we're pleased that the international hockey community feels as strongly about him as we do."

A total of 11 individuals ran for seven vacant council positions and Rossi was the top vote getter in the field.

"I'm extremely thankful to the international hockey community for giving me the opportunity to serve," said Rossi. "I've had a great mentor in Walter Bush. And while no one can fill Walter's shoes, I'll work hard on behalf of the hockey community to advance a game I care very deeply about."

Walter Bush Jr., chairman of the board of USA Hockey, retired as a vice president of the IIHF. He served 12 years as a vice president of the IIHF and 23 years overall on the IIHF Council.
